Day 1: Moshi/Arusha to Londorossi Gate to Mti Mkubwa (Big Tree) Camp
Day 2: Mti Mkubwa Camp to Shira Camp 1
Day 3: Shira Camp1 to Shira Camp 2
Day 4: Shira Camp 2 through Lava Tower to Barranco Camp
Day 5: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp
Day 6: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp then Uhuru Peak (Summit Day)
Day 7: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate then Moshi.
Detailed Itinerary of the Hiking Tour
Day 1: Moshi/Arusha to Londorossi Gate to Mti Mkubwa (Big Tree) Camp
Transfer to Londorossi Gate (2,250 meters) and when you reach here. Finish registration and meet the trekking team as well as the lead park ranger guides. Afterwards, transfer on your trek through the verdant rainforest to the Mti Mkubwa Camp (2,820 meters) where you have Dinner and Overnight.
Day 2: Mti Mkubwa Camp to Shira 1 Camp
Morning breakfast then proceed through the rainforest with lead park ranger guide. While on your trek, you reach the heather and moorland zone where you leave from to ascend to Shira 1 Camp (3,505 meters). When you reach here, enjoy stunning views of Mount Meru and the Shira Plateau.
Afterwards continue to have Dinner and Overnight camping on the Shira Plateau then rest at the Shira 1 Camp.
Day 3: Shira 1 Camp to Shira 2 Camp
Breakfast then continue on trek from Shira 1 Camp to Shira 2 Camp (3,850 meters). While on trek, cross the Shira Plateau where you view deviating terrain vegetation. In the Afternoon, embark on the altitude Acclimatization hike. After the hike, Dinner and Overnight camping on the Shira Plateau at Shira 2 Camp.
Day 4: Shira 2 Camp to Barranco Camp
Early morning breakfast then enjoy the crisp mountain air as you watch the beautiful Shira Plateau then later begin trekking as you go through the alpine desert of the Shira Plateau. Traverse the otherworldly lunar-like terrain viewing unique flora adapted to high-altitude conditions then you ascend acclimatizing to the increasing altitude until you reach the Lava Tower (4,630 meters) where you take a short acclimatization break.
You shall descend from the Lava Tower to Barranco Valley for lunch at Barranco Camp (3,960 meters) where you have breathtaking views of the surrounding peaks then after have a meal and in the afternoon proceed on trek to conquer the Barranco Wall then later you shall reach the top of the Wall viewing the Barranco Valley in beneath. Dinner and Overnight at the Barranco Camp.
Day 5: Barranco Camp to Karanga Camp
Breakfast then embark on trek through the Karanga Valley viewing a variety of landscapes as well as the Karanga River. You shall continue on ascent to the Karanga Camp situated at 4,035 meters until you reach and relax as you view the surrounding peaks. In the evening, enjoy warm delicious breakfast then view the beautiful peaks of Mountain Kilimanjaro. Later rest, have Dinner and Overnight at Karanga Camp.
Day 6: Karanga Camp to Barafu Camp then Uhuru Peak (Summit Day)
Early morning breakfast then get on trek from Karanga Camp (4,035 meters) towards Barafu Camp (4,600 meters) following a steep ascent as you view the surrounding glaciers and peaks.
Your trek follows steadily through the rocky and challenging terrain with breaks for hydration and acclimatization. You shall reach the Barafu Camp, a rocky and exposed campsite situated on a ridge then break briefly to rest and prepare for the summit push.
You shall then enjoy a hearty lunch at Barafu Camp then later take a nap in your tent then late in the Afternoon, you gather your gear for cold temperatures as you are required to start hiking to the summit at Mid Night.
You are taken through precise briefing by a park ranger guide then at mid night, start to trek to the summit equipped with headlamps to navigate the dark and icy terrain.
You ascend through the night, following the switchback trails up the steep slopes of Mountain Kilimanjaro, guided by the stars and the beam of your headlamp. You shall later reach Stella Point (5,756 meters) on the crater rim as the first light of dawn begins to illuminate the sky.
Then later, you shall continue the final push from Stella Point to Uhuru Peak (5,895 meters) at sunrise then take many photos at the summit sign, celebrating your remarkable achievement. After taking numerous photos, embark on descent to the Barafu Camp then to Mweka Camp where you rest and have Dinner and Overnight.
Day 7: Mweka Camp to Mweka Gate then Moshi
After breakfast in the morning, get on short scenic 3 hour hike back to the Mweka Gate. On reaching here, you shall give in details for registration as well as get your hiking Certificate the Green for those that reached stella point and gold certificates for those that reached Uhuru Peak. After getting your certificates, you shall transfer to Moshi or the Kilimanjaro International Airport to board flight back home.
