Detailed Itinerary of the Safari

Day 1: Drive to Mbale (optional stopover in Jinja)

The 6 Days Mount Elgon Hike, Sasa & Sipi Falls Safari starts with arriving at the Entebbe International Airport where you meet our driver guide who briefs you about the Hiking Safari.  After the briefing session, the driver will transfer you towards the Eastern Part of Uganda to Mbale watching the green terrain vegetation, bird species as well as lunch. This journey takes you a period of 6 to 7 hours via Jinja and when you reach Mbale, continue to check-in lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Mbale Resort Hotel.

Day 2:  Budadiri to Sasa Camp

Have breakfast at the lodge/ hotel then continue to the Uganda wildlife Authority offices where you are welcomed by park ranger guides then arrange with the porters on carrying your luggage then prepare to go for your hike.

The first day is the most challenging following a tough and rugged ascent for over 1600m. You shall transfer for 7 to 8 hours towards Sasa River Camp (2900 m). On your way enjoy views of the green terrain, bird species and take photos to keep with you. Proceed on transfer to the Sasa River Camp for relaxation, Dinner and Overnight.

Day 3: Sasa Camp to Mude Camp (3500m)

After breakfast at the camp site, embark on a 4 to 5 hours’ walk through the green forest to Mude cave campsite. En-route, have stunning views of the green terrain, bird species as well as pose for photos. After the adventurous hike, you reach the Camp and have Dinner and Overnight.  Mude Cave Camp

Day 4: Wagagai Peak (4321m)

Morning breakfast at the camp then transfer through the moorland zone up to the main Peak Wagagai. This is where your ultimate adventure experience occurs. Take many photos of the peak as well as take many photos with you to keep. After the experience, you shall descend to have relaxation, Dinner and Overnight at the stunning Mude Cave Camp.

Day 5: Mude Cave Camp to Budadiri

Early morning breakfast then embark on descent to the base of Mountain Elgon and depending on your stability and physical fitness, stop at Sasa river camp briefly then continue to the Budadidiri Camp where you leave from to Mbale for relaxation, Dinner and Overnight.

Day 6: Depart to Kampala/ Entebbe

Have breakfast at leisure and drive to Tororo then to Kampala or the Entebbe International Airport where you board a flight back home.
