Detailed Itinerary of the Tour

Day 1: Arrive and Transfer to Virunga National Park

Arrive at the Kigali International Airport where your 4 Days Congo Gorilla Trekking Tour starts as you meet our driver guide who takes you through short briefing about this safari to the vast Virunga National Park.  After a while, you shall proceed on a journey of 3 to 4 hours with en-route views of the green terrain, bird species and lunch. After a while, you shall reach the Park and continue to check-in lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Mikeno Lodge.

Day 2: Gorilla Trek at Virunga National Park

The 2nd Day of the 4 Days Congo Gorilla Trek takes you Mountain Gorilla Trekking as you shall proceed to the park headquarters for precise briefing on conduct around the Mountain Gorillas.

After the briefing session on conduct, you shall be allocated into groups of 8 with lead park ranger guides who transfer you to the starting points where you leave from to enter the forest.

Begin your trek for the rare species of Mountain Gorillas in the forest following the varying trails for a period of 3 to 5 hours depending on the reported current location of the Gorillas. After a while, you shall meet them and stay in their presence for an hour taking many photos to keep.

Getting in their presence, keep a distance of 7 meters then use a camera that has no flash to take many photos to keep with you. After your trek, return to lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Mikeno Lodge.

Day 3: Hike (Ascend) to Mountain Nyiragongo Volcano

Today wake up early and have breakfast on the 3rd Day of the 4 Days Congo Gorilla Tour then embark on transfer to the Kibati Patrol Station where you are briefed on conduct as you hike/ climb the majestic Mountain Nyiragongo Volcano.

After short briefing, proceed to hike to the top of the Mountain Volcano for a period of 6 hours and depending on your physical fitness as you can get to the top of the Mountain Volcano in a period of 4 hours.

While on hike, view the green terrain vegetation, bird species, wildlife animals etc until you get to the top of the Mountain.

Porters are available to carry your luggage and belongings as well as ranger guards offering you protection.

When you reach the summit, watch and take many photos of the Lava and the Caldera as the sun sets. After the adventure, you shall get into the summit shelters for Dinner and Overnight.

Day 4: Descend to Kibati then to Airport

On the final Day of the 4 Days Congo Gorilla Trek, descend to the Kibati Patrol Station at the base where you leave from to Goma International airport to Board Flight back home.
