Detailed Itinerary Of Safari

Day 1: Arrival And Kigali City Tour

You arrive at the Kigali International Airport where you meet our driver guide who welcomes you and briefs you about the safari then later transfers you on Kigali City Tour visiting the many Genocide Memorials, National Museums, National Market. On reaching here, you shall learn about the tragic Genocide in which many Rwandans lost their dear lives. Lunch is en-route then in the evening, you shall continue to check-in your lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Hotel Chezlando.

Day 2: Drive To Virunga National Park

Transfer Have breakfast then embark on journey to traverse the Rwanda Congo border to the beautiful Virunga National Park situated a few kilometers off Goma Town. Lunch is en-route then you continue to the park and when you reach here, you shall check-in lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Mikeno Lodge.

Day 3: Gorilla Trek At Virunga National Park

The 3rd Day of the Safari takes you trekking and watching the rare species of Mountain Gorillas in their natural forest vegetation habitat. Have morning breakfast then proceed to the park headquarters for precise briefing on conduct around the Mountain Gorillas.

During your briefing, the park ranger guide informs you about the vast Virunga National Park, Mountain Gorillas and the many Gorilla Trekking Families. They also brief you about the safety protocols, importance of conservation efforts then later, he shall allocate you into groups of 8 with lead park rangers.

After here, you shall transfer with park ranger guides who lead you to the starting points where you leave from to enter the forest to trek the Gorillas for a period of 3 to 5 hours depending on current location of the Gorillas then after a while, you shall follow varying trails in the forest searching for the Gorillas then after a while, you shall meet the Gorillas.

In an hour, stay in their presence taking many photos to keep with you then later embark on transfer to the park headquarters fro your Gorilla Trekking Certificate then after to your lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Mikeno Lodge.

Day 4: Hike To Mountain Nyiragongo Volcano

On the 4th Day of the 7 Days Mountain and Eastern Lowland Gorilla Trek, have breakfast then continue to the Kibati Patrol Station where you are precisely briefed on conduct while hiking the Mountain Nyiragongo Volcano. When finished with the briefing session, you shall embark on trek/ hike to the top of the Mountain Volcano for a period of 6 hours depending on the physical fitness of the group.

On Your way, view the green terrain vegetation, bird species, wildlife animals etc till you reach the top of the Mountain Volcano.

You shall get here with porters who carry your luggage and belongings as well as ranger guars who offer you protection since they are fully armed to enhance this cause.

On reaching the summit, take many photos of the Lava and the Caldera then as the sun sets, get into the summit cabins to enjoy Dinner and Overnight.

Day 5: Descend and transfer to Kahuzi Biega

Morning breakfast then descend to the Kibati Patrol Station. Reaching the base at the station, you congratulate yourselves  then tip the guides, porter and later proceed to your 4×4 wheel vehicle to transfer you to the stunning Kahuzi Biega National Park located in the Southern province of the Democratic Republic of Congo.

On your journey en-route have views at the terrain landscape, birds as well as have lunch and after a while you reach the park and check-in lodge for relaxation, Dinner and Overnight. Coco Lodge.

Day 6: Eastern Lowland Gorilla Trek at Kahuzi Biega National Park

The 6th Day of the 7 Days Mountain and Eastern Lowland Gorilla Trek gives you a chance to be in the presence of the rare species of the majestic Eastern Lowland Gorillas.

Have early morning breakfast at 6:30 am then embark on transfer to the park headquarters for short briefing on conduct around the Eastern Lowland Gorillas. You shall meet a park ranger guide who takes you through a briefing session as they inform you about Kahuzi Biega National Park, the various primates like Gorillas, monkeys and bird species that inhabit the thick green vegetation habitat.

After the briefing session, you are allocated into groups of 8 with lead park ranger guides who lead you to enter the green forest vegetation to trek the Eastern Lowland Gorillas. You shall follow varying trails looking out for these amazing species for a period of 3 to 5 hours depending on their current location as reported by the rangers with trackers then after, you shall meet them and stay in their presence taking many photos to keep.

You shall realize that the Eastern Lowland Gorillas are the same as Mountain Gorillas although with differing features that make them stand out. The features include nose, ears, arms, fur color etc. After trekking and being in the presence of these giant Apes, you shall transfer to the park headquarters then to your car to transfer to your lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Day 6: Depart to Goma International Airport

The final Day of the 7 Days Mountain and Eastern Lowland Gorilla Trek, you shall embark on journey to the Goma International airport to Board your Flight back home.
