Detailed Itinerary of the Tour

Day 1: Arrival and Kigali City Tour

The 6 Days Congo-Rwanda Gorillas & Golden Monkey Trekking Tour starts at the Kigali International Airport where you are welcomed by a driver guide who briefs you about the safari and later takes you on City Tour around Kigali. You go visiting the various Genocide Memorials, National Museums where you learn about the tragic Genocide in which many Rwandans lost their dear lives and families.

Lunch is en-route and the Genocide Memorials you visit include; Nyamata Genocide Memorial Centre, Kigali Genocide Memorial Centre etc. After the City Tour, you shall get to check-in your lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Hotel Chezlando.

Day 2: Transfer to Virunga National Park

Wake up have breakfast then embark on transfer to cross the border into the DR Congo. Lunch is en-route and after a while, you shall reach the border hand in your valid documentation then traverse into Goma Town where you relax, take a tour. After the Tour, you shall proceed to the popular Virunga National Park and check-in lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Mikeno Lodge.

Day 3: Gorilla Trekking at Virunga National Park

The second day gives you a chance to be in the presence of the Mountain Gorillas.

You shall have early morning breakfast then continue to the park headquarters for short briefing on conduct around the Mountain Gorillas and here the guide informs you about Virunga National Park, Mountain Gorillas and the various families that inhabit the green terrain vegetation.

The guide also informs you about the safety protocols, importance of conservation efforts. After briefing, you are allocated into groups of 8 with lead park rangers. You shall get to enter the green forest to trek the Gorillas for a period of 3 to 5hours depending on current location of the Gorillas.

Some treks are relatively short and straightforward, while others might require exceptional determination to get to the Gorillas in their natural forest habitat.

After a while following varying trails in the forest, you shall meet the Gorillas and stay in their presence taking many photos to keep. After trekking the Mountain Gorillas, you shall return to your lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Mikeno Lodge.

Day 4: Transfer back to Rwanda (Volcanoes National Park)

On the 3rd Day of the 6 Days Congo-Rwanda Gorillas & Golden Monkey Trekking Tour, you shall transfer to cross the Congo Rwanda border with the right documentation. After clearing with the border, you shall continue to have lunch en-route then continue to Ruhengeri District Musanze at Volcanoes National Park. Follow the rolling hills and deviating canopies then after you reach the park and check-in lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Five Volcanoes Lodge.

Day 5: Golden Monkey Tracking at Volcanoes National Park

Today is Golden Monkey Tracking Day hence you shall watch the Golden Monkeys as you transfer from one trail to another.

Breakfast in the morning then proceed to the park headquarters for precise briefing on conduct around the Golden Monkeys then after you are allocated into groups of 8 with a lead park ranger guide who transfers you into the forest.

Enter the forest and trek the Golden Monkeys for 2 to 4 hours and when you meet them you watch them as they play and jump from one tree branch to another an experience so unique and exceptional as you take many photos to keep.

After tracking the Golden Monkeys, you shall return to lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Five Volcanoes Lodge.

Day 6: Depart to Kigali

On the last Day of the 6 Days Congo-Rwanda Gorillas & Golden Monkey Trekking Tour you shall carry your luggage and depart to Kigali International Airport to board flight back home.
