Detailed Itinerary of the Trekking Tour

Day 1: Transfer to Nyakalengija along Mountain Rwenzori

You shall transfer and arrive at the park headquarters for briefing about conduct then with ideal equipment embark on trek along the Mountain to the highest point at Magherita Peak. After a while, you shall reach and check-in lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Equator Snow Lodge.

Day 2: Nyakalengija-Nyabitaba Hut

Today have breakfast then transfer from your lodge to the park headquarters at Nyakalengija an while here, you are allocated with many porters to help you carry your luggage. After this, you shall continue on trek through varying terrain vegetation habitat watching bird species at an altitude of 1,646m till you reach Nyabitaba Hut 2,652 m where you have Dinner and Overnight.

Day 3: Nyabitaba-John Matte Hut

On the 3rd Day of the 9 Days Rwenzori Trekking Tour via the Central Circuit, you shall leave Nyabitaba Hut on the trail leading westwards for half kilometers then drop north steeply to Kurf Shafer Bridge.

This hike takes you a period of 7 hours as you ascend from Nyabitaba hut to John Matte hut via Rivers Bujuku and Mubuku. The hike here is very steep and slippery hence hikers need to be steadfast. Continue to John Matte hut where you will spend your overnight and Dinner.

Day 4: John Matte-Bujuku Hut

Today hike for a period of 3 to 5 hours till you reach John Matte then traverse the Bujuku River and access the Bigo bog section. You shall reach the drier ground up to Bujuku River which has the back drop of Mount Baker and Mount Speak as they head North. Dinner and Overnight at Bujuku Hut.

Day 5: Bujuku- Elena

To continue the circuit you leave directly west of Bujuku Hut on newer trails heading to Elena Hut (4,372m). Dinner and Overnight stay.

Day 6: Elena-Kitandara Hut

Today the 6th of the 9 Days Rwenzori Trekking Tour via the Central Circuit, proceed on ascent from the Elena glacier to the Stanley Plateau then get out your crampons to enhance a balanced easy hike. You shall cross the Elena Hut, Punta Margherita and get to Kitandara Hut.

You continue on ascent to the Margherita glacier then Summit for a period of 3 hours. Take many photos to keep with you then after proceed on descent to the Elena Hut till you reach the upper region of Lake Kitandara.

Transfer through thick mud to lower Lake Kitandara at (4.023m) for a period of 3 hours till you get at the Kitandara Hut. You can proceed on hike to Mount Baker/ Mount Luigi di Savoia and the peak Vittorio Sella which offer you beautiful views of the site and features of Mt. Luigi di Savoia. Dinner and Overnight at Kitandara Hut.

Day 7: Kitandara-Guy yeoman Hut, 3,261 m

On this Day transfer From Lake Kitandara at 4.282 m then proceed to fresh field pass via the high alpine mossy glades before embarking on descent among rocky and boggy regions. The section includes glaciers of Mount Stanley and Baker. Following the muddy trail leads you to Akendali, Bujongolo Kabamba rock shelters where the Kabamba valley starts then proceeds descending to Guy Yeoman Hut which is surrounded by a vaery stunning terrain including Mountains, vegetation and rivers for a period of 6 hours.

Day 8: Guy Yeoman-Nyakalengija-Rwenzori Base

Today morning of the 9 Days Rwenzori Trekking Tour via the Central Circuit, embark on ascent to the steep slopes close to the Mubuku River stretching via Kichuchu rock shelter. You shall later find the original route close to the conjunction of River Bujuku, and this hike takes you a period of 3 and a half hours.

Day 9: Kasese-Kampala/ Entebbe

Today, proceed for a period of 2 hours to Nyakalengija then after reaching here, meet the driver guide to transfer you to Kampala or the Entebbe International airport to board flight back home.
