Detailed Itinerary of the Tour

Day 1: Arrive to Hotel

Arrive at the Kigali International Airport where you are welcomed by a driver guide who briefs you about the safari then later transfers you to your hotel for relaxation, Dinner and Overnight at Hotel Mille Collines.

Day 2: Kigali City Tour & Relaxation

The 2nd Day of the 12 Days Rwanda Uganda Gorilla Trekking & Ssese Tour takes you on city tour around Kigali, visiting the various Genocide Memorials (Kigali Genocide Memorial, Nyamata Genocide Memorial ), National Museums as well as the National Market. While in these places, you get to know about the tragic Genocide in which many lost their dear lives. Lunch is en-route around Kigali. After lunch, return back to hotel for Dinner and Overnight. Day 3: Drive to Volcanoes National Park

Early morning breakfast then continue on transfer to Volcanoes National Park in Ruhengeri District Musanze on journey following the misty foggy hills, rolling hills and deviating canopies. This journey takes you a period of 2 to 3 hours till you reach Musanze.

You shall break off briefly to visit the Ellen De Generes Dian Fossey Gorilla Fund Institute where you learn about the legendary Dian Fossey who sacrificed her life to save that of the Gorillas that were hunted illegally at the time.

Take many photos to keep then after a while at the Gorilla Fund Institute, you shall continue to check-in lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Five Volcanoes Lodge.

Day 4: Trek Gorillas at Volcanoes National Park

Very early morning breakfast at the lodge then proceed to the park headquarters for short briefing about the Gorillas. You reach the headquarters and are welcomed by a park ranger guide who takes you through briefing about Volcanoes National Park, Mountain Gorillas and the vast green forest vegetation.

While going through briefing, you shall grab a cup of hot coffee, tea, cappucino, then later the park ranger guide will allocate you into groups of 8 with lead park ranger guides who lead you to the various starting points where you leave from to enter the green forest to trek the Mountain Gorillas in their natural forest habitat.

Follow varying trails in the forest locating the Gorillas for a period of 3 to 5 hours depending on the reported current location of the Gorillas. After a while, you shall meet the Gorillas then in an hour, stay in their presence taking many photos to keep. After Gorilla Trekking, return to lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Five Volcanoes Lodge.

Day 5: Golden Monkey Tracking at Volcanoes National Park

Early morning breakfast then embark on journey to the Kinigi park headquarters for short briefing on conduct about the Golden Monkeys, Volcanoes National Park.

On reaching here, grab coffee, tea, cappucino then the park ranger guide shall take you through the dos and don’ts around Golden Monkeys in their habitat.

You are allocated into groups of 8 with lead park ranger guides who lead you into the green forest to track the Golden Monkeys for a period of 2 to 4 hours following varying trails watching the Golden Monkeys as they jump from one tree branch to another communicating and playing.

Take many photos to keep with you about the Golden Monkeys then later proceed to your lodge for relaxation, Dinner and Overnight. Five Volcanoes Lodge.

Day 6: Drive to Bwindi Forest National Park (Ruhaga Sector )

Morning breakfast on the 6th Day of the 12 Days Rwanda Uganda Gorilla Trek & Ssese Islands Tour then proceed to traverse from the Rwandan Side to Ugandan side to the vast stunning Bwindi Forest National Park. You shall get to the Rushaga Sector and the journey takes you a period of 3 to 4 hours. On reaching the Park, continue to check-in lodge for relaxation, Dinner and Overnight. Rushaga Gorilla Camp.

Day 7: Gorilla Trek at Bwindi Forest National Park (Rushaga Sector)

On the 7th Day of the Safari you get to trek and watch the rare species of Mountain Gorillas in their natural forest vegetation habitat.

You wake up very early in the morning at 6:30 am then head to the Rushaga Sector headquarters for precise briefing about the conduct around the Mountain Gorillas in their natural forest vegetation habitat.

The Park ranger guides offer you information regarding Gorillas, trekking guidelines, regulations and rules then later he distributes you into groups of 8.

You are allocated lead park rangers, who lead you into the green forest to trek the Gorillas following varying trails for a period of 3 to 5 hours depending on the current location of the Gorillas. You ascend and descend the varying terrain in search of the Gorillas and after a while, you get to meet the Mountain Gorillas.

On meeting the Mountain Gorillas, you stay in their presence for an hour with a your camera/ binoculars that has no flash. Take many photos to keep with you then after trekking the Mountain Gorillas, you shall return to lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Rushaga Gorilla Camp.

Day 8: Drive to Lake Mburo National Park (Boat Cruise)

Breakfast in the morning then with your luggage, continue to Lake Mburo National Park for a period of 5 to 6 hours. Lunch is en-route then after you shall get to the park and continue to Lake Mburo for an exciting Boat Cruise.

On reaching the shores, get on a boat cruise that takes you a period of 3 hours beginning at 2:30 pm and when cruising you shall watch many wildlife animals along the shores, hippos and crocodiles beneath the waters. After the Boat Cruise, continue to check-in lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Mihingo Lodge.

Day 9: Transfer to Kampala

Breakfast in the morning then with your luggage, continue on transfer to Kampala and en-route you shall enjoy lunch. After a while, you shall reach Kampala and proceed to check-in lodge for Relaxation, Dinner and Overnight. Cassia Lodge Buziga.

Day 10: Drive to Entebbe then Ssese Islands

Breakfast at the lodge then proceed to Ssese Islands Kalangala via Entebbe at Nakiwogo for a period of 1 to 2 hours. When you reach the shores at Nakiwogo Landing site, board the MV Kalangala Ship to cruise you to the stunning Ssese Islands in Kalangala.

Board the ship which takes you a period of 3 to 4 hours with en-route views of the green terrain, birds, Islands at a distance.  After a while, you shall reach the shores in Kalangala then proceed to check-in lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Brovad Sands Lodge.

Day 11: Boat Cruise and Relaxation at Ssese Islands

Morning breakfast then embark on a boat cruise around the Islands an encounter that offers you remarkable scenic views of Lake Victoria. On finishing the Boat Cruise, you shall have picnic lunch and later proceed to visit and explore Kalangala Town, engage in cultural adventures, visit the local markets. Later in the evening, you shall get back to your lodge for relaxation at a peaceful region of the beach.

Relax, read a book, then go for a leisure walk to watch the sunset and at night, gaze at the beautiful stars while the sky is clear. After the adventure, you get back to your lodge for Dinner and Overnight. Brovad Sands Lodge.

Day 12: Depart to Entebbe Airport

Enjoy morning breakfast then depart to Entebbe International Airport to board flight back home.
